Two people were arrested on drug charges Tuesday night after Southern Regional Police investigating another case found heroin, marijuana and other drugs in a Shrewsbury apartment, police said.
About $700 worth of heroin and three pot plants were found, along with about 20 pills of OxyContin, about 10 pills of Xanax and drug paraphernalia, according to police.
Teague said Christopher Palmer, 28, of Shrewsbury was arrested at the scene. A woman, Brittany Miller, 18, also lived at the apartment and was arrested a short time later.
Since the marijuana was growing in plain view, police said, the woman had to know drugs were flowing through the apartment.
Teague said he was not sure whether the heroin was just for the two people arrested and a few friends or if they planned to sell the narcotics on the street.
But he said $700 is a lot of heroin, considering it was found in Shrewsbury.
Pennsylvania State Police found about $8,000 worth of heroin in July at a Shrewsbury parking lot, where a dealer was waiting for a buyer from York, according to police.
But many officials worry the Shrewsbury area is seeing more heroin problems as more people begin traveling to and from Baltimore and are moving from Maryland.
Palmer and Miller were charged with manufacturing marijuana; possession with the intent to deliver heroin; possession of marijuana, OxyContin and Xanax; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
They remained in York County Prison on Saturday in lieu of $25,000 bail each.
