SPRING HILL, FL (AP) -- Authorities say they've arrested a Citrus County paramedic who used a butter knife to steal pain pills from a Spring Hill CVS pharmacy.
Deputies say Brandon Scott Johnson -- an employee with the county's private EMS service -- confessed to threatening a pharmacist with a butter knife and stealing 140 pills of Oxycontin -- a prescription pain medication.
Authorities say another employee tried to stop Johnson as he was leaving, and Johnson punched the man in the face. Johnson also was injured but managed to escape. Deputies received a crime stopper tip Friday and found Johnson at a fire station.
Johnson told deputies he was addicted to the medication. He has been charged with robbery with a deadly weapon. He remains in jail on a $40,000 bond.
