Suspected store robber arrested...

Submitted by admin on Sat, 2007-04-28 20:53.

INVERNESS — A man suspected of jumping a counter at a local CVS Wednesday night and threatening a pharmacist with a knife was arrested at a fire station Friday.

Brandon Scott Johnson, 25, of 3060 Barbados Ave. in Spring Hill, was charged with one count of armed robbery and was being held at the Citrus County Jail.

Someone called a local Crime Stoppers hotline and told deputies Johnson was at a fire station, located along State Road 44 in Inverness. He was arrested without incident.

Johnson entered the CVS store, located at 11115 Spring Hill Drive, and confronted the pharmacist with a knife and made verbal threats, authorities said.

He demanded Oxycontin pills and the victim complied, the arrest warrant stated.

A man who confronted Johnson on his way out of the store was punched in the face. During the melee, Johnson fell to the floor and banged his head on a rack before fleeing on foot, authorities said.
