YORK COUNTY (April 26, 2007): Over the course of the past month, York County Sheriff's deputies have teamed up with federal Drug Enforcement Administration agents and local police to take down "multi-ounce" cocaine dealers in York County and abroad.
The extensive multi-jurisdictional effort resulted in the recent arrest of five people and the seizure of approximately 170 grams of cocaine, 52 grams of crack and $10,000 in cash.
Deputies and agents seized 170 grams of cocaine, 16 grams of “crack” and approximately $8,000 in U.S. currency following the execution of a search warrant at 30 Ledgewood Drive in Lyman.
The two occupants of the residence were arrested and charged with trafficking of scheduled drugs.
Approximately 35 grams of "crack" cocaine and more than $2,000 in cash were seized.
On April 2, Sheriff's deputies and federal agents, with the assistance of the Buxton Police Department, arrested John R. Cote, 24, and Jeremy J. Reardon, 26, both of Buxton for trafficking of scheduled drugs.
More than 50 OxyContin tablets were seized during the arrest.
Working in conjunction with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, the York County Sheriff’s Office is working to identify additional suspects and the out of state supply sources responsible for conspiring to bring drugs into the state of Maine.
