The boy's father made the 14-year-old stand outside his Knoxville middle school wearing a sign reading, "I abused and sold drugs."
The father tells a Knoxville T-V station (WATE) that the nation's "extreme drug problem" calls for "extreme measures" by parents.
The sign-carrying punishment ended when the school's principal came out and asked the father to call it off.
The boy says it was embarrassing, but adds he's learned a lesson: "drugs are for losers."
