Police arrest Walgreens armed robbery suspects...

PRESCOTT A tip from a concerned citizen led to Tuesday's and Wednesday's arrests of two men in connection with the March 3 and April 15 armed robberies at Prescott Valley's Walgreens pharmacy.

Prescott Valley Police detectives, who worked 36 hours straight to break the case, arrested Michael Jon Silvius, 20, of Prescott, and David Jacob Madrid, 22, of Glendale, on suspicion of armed robbery charges, Cmdr. Laura Molinaro said.

They may face additional charges depending on the additional results of the pending investigation, Molinaro said.

"Suspects had done that themselves," Molinaro said. "They were getting ready to split them all up and sell them."

"We had hardly anything to go on out of Walgreens itself and it was only through that tip that we found that he had a felony for his arrest," Molinaro said. "We found out where he resided. He ended up coming out of the residence as detectives were watching it. They arrested him on the street without incident."

Glendale SWAT team went to his home, they learned that Madrid was at work.

Molinaro said detectives have exhausted all possible leads about the third suspect, whom witnesses spotted in the March robbery.

Molinaro said the two suspects do not appear to be responsible for any other unresolved robberies in the tri-city area, although Phoenix authorities are exploring that possibility in the valley.
